Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Users Complain about Display Issues

Amid all this hype and excitement some Samsung S22 Ultra buyers have received their devices and it seems not all is perfect with the S22 Ultra. The S22 Ultra comes with a beautiful Samsung display that is supposed to make everything look crisp and clean.

However, users who received their Exynos-based S22 Ultra have reported that the screen has a stream of pixels visible on the screen when playing a video or running a game. Moreover, this stream of pixels may be visible in the middle for some and some it may be down in the bottom.

What Does Samsung Say About This?

Samsung has assured its users that the problem is limited to the software and has nothing to do with the excellent hardware of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The software issue is being mitigated as you are reading this and Samsung assures users that there is no need to file for a return or replacement of the device.

“We are aware of the issue, please do be aware, since the S22 series has no official released firmware updates are not yet available, these will become available closer to the release date. In the meantime, we advised changing your resolution to 1080p.” – Samsung

How can you fix this issue?

As per Samsung’s official Twitter handle the problem is currently limited to a few devices and is entirely software-based and an update is coming soon with a fix till then users can fix this issue by simply turning their display resolution down to 1080p and the problem would be solved for the time being.

Users have taken to various forums, Reddit and Twitter to voice their displeasure with the situation given that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is the costliest phone in Samsung’s smartphone lineup this year and people are expecting absolute perfection.

Samsung has confirmed that the issue exists but they have assured the users that the issue is not due to any hardware fault and only occurs in specific situations. According to Samsung the issue only occurs when the screen resolution is set to WQHD and the colour tone is set to Normal.

Mostly the screen artefact is only visible when playing a YouTube video or after unlocking the device using the in-display fingerprint sensor. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update as Samsung has confirmed that the update is already in the works.
