Apple Watch Series 8 Expected Release Date 2022 Design Features, and Price

Apple Watch Series 8 is still a few months away but the general speculation has started about its design, specs, features, price and release date. Leaks and rumors have also started coming Here’s what we know about Apple’s next wrist-wearable device:

Apple Watch

Apple has been announcing a new version of its smartwatch every year since 2016, and the Series 7 was launched in September last year alongside the iPhone 13 lineup. Apple plans to turn the next smartwatch into a revolutionary piece with some very useful health features, a Mindfulness app and more inclusions.

It plans to use the flat-edged redesign that many Apple fans are hoping for. There are also reports that Apple will launch a rough version of the smartwatch and the next economic variant, such as the Apple Watch SE 2, focusing on sportsmen and athletes.

Apple Watch Series 8: What is the Release Date?

Apple hasn’t confirmed the release date for Apple Watch Series 8 yet. However, judging by the previous launches, they tend to launch the smartwatch in September every year alongside the new iPhone lineup.

So, we expect the Apple Watch 8 to arrive in the second week of September 2022 with the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup. There was no discussion about the next smartwatch at the recent Apple Peak Performance event.

Apple Watch Series 8 Design and Variants

Apple hasn’t changed much in the original design of the Apple Watch since its inception. The design is apparently unchanged, only the iconic squirrel was customized with the last model to play large displays on a carver chassis.

However, there are rumors of different designs on the web, one from LeaksApplePro on Twitter, that there will not be much difference in design from Apple Watch 8 Series 7 and there will be very little difference. The set of parallel openings will change only noticeably instead of just one.

Ross Young, a renowned Display analyst suggests that Apple Watch Series 8 will come in three sizes, instead of the regular two. The new third size would be a larger one alongside the 41mm and 45mm size variants.

There is also speculation that the Apple Watch 8 could follow the design concept of the latest flat-edge iPhones. Prominent insiders have also shared a series of renders that support similar designs before the launch of the Apple Watch 7. However, he further mentioned that the design could be made for future smartwatches and possibly Apple Watch Series 8 could use it.

Rugged Apple Watch and Apple Watch SE 2

Apple is reportedly developing a rogue variant of the Apple Watch that is specifically designed for athletes, athletes and those who engage in regular outdoor physical activity. This rugged Apple Watch will launch alongside the Series 8. It will be a tougher, more resistant and more protective variant of the regular Apple Watch. The look will be stronger than before.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg also reports that Apple is developing a sick smartwatch and the next Apple Watch SE. Apple Watch SE 2 will be a more affordable entry-level version. He further claimed that the three models will be launched together.

Apple Watch Series 8 Specs and Features

Apple Watch Series 8 will probably use a faster SoC to improve performance because no changes have been made to the previous model. It will still use Retina LTPO OLED with 1000 nits peak brightness and 326PPI. The next Apple smartwatch is also expected to run on WatchOS 8, or 8.5 if it is available at launch. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is developing multiple new health features for its upcoming smartwatches.

These upcoming features include a thermometer for blood pressure monitoring, fertility and sleep tracking, sleep apnea detection and diabetes detection (blood glucose monitoring). However, it is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Apple is also working on a car accident detection feature for the Apple Watch that may be available this year. It will use sensors like accelerometers to detect car accidents and then report them to emergency communications. Apple Watch Series 8 is more likely to get it.

There are also reports that Apple will add a temperature sensor to the Apple Watch this year, however, Bloomberg noted that the company has so far scrapped that plan. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that the Apple Watch 8 will have major “activity tracking” updates.

What do the Apple Patents Reveal?

Apple has patented a number of notable technologies that they could use in later Apple smartwatches. However, it is not certain whether they will be used in Series 8. The first is a patent for biometric authentication that will identify the wearer’s skin pattern for identity verification and eliminate the need for a passcode to unlock the device.

Another patent is for a self-adhesive Apple Watch band that will adapt to the situation. When you are participating in intense activities like running or exercise, it will be harder to measure accurate heart reading. However, as soon as you relax it will automatically loosen up later.

There is another patent that adds an LED indicator to the Apple Watch band to visualize the progress of an activity or work. The company has also patented a sensor for its watches that can monitor the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, while there is another patent for an under-display camera for a smartwatch.

Apple Watch Series 8 Expected Price

Apple has been using the same pricing concept for the Watch series for several years. We expect prices to remain the same this year. This means that the Apple Watch 8 may be available for a mm 399 price for a 41mm size base model.

The price of big models will increase. It will be interesting to see the price of the rumored third and larger variants. Rumor has it that Apple Watch SE 2 may bring a slight change in price. It will be available for between $ 279 and $ 329. As we move closer to Apple’s September launch event, more details will be available for the upcoming Watch Series 8. We will keep them updated here.
